Re: The ICW Magenta Line is being removed

It seems the right thing to do. It was my observation there are far too many folks using the magenta line as a direct path and steer to it, rather than using the magenta line as merely an indication of which channel is the ICW.

maybe people will start looking around while traveling (instead of letting 'otto' drive) and actually learn how to work a chart, God forbid

The right thing to do?! Be treating all of us like children and taking away a useful tool that is abused by a few? The explanation offered by NOAA only reinforces that this wasn't done for budgetary reasons, but rather to protect those that can't be bothered to learn to use tools!!!
