Spring summer trip

I am planning a trip for sometime during the warmer season. I will be single handeling a Seaward 25. (24" fixed wing keel) The round trip is from Southport NC to Kitty Hawk NC. I have previously done this trip in a small trawler. (all on the inside) This time I would like to sail as much as possible. This means that I will be going inlet to inlet as time and weather allow. I would appreciate any help available especially from people who are familiar with the inlets on this part of the coast. Also, if you have done this trip, How long do you think it will take???
