Next thing I was thinking about is
charts. I'm wondering what if any experiences anyone's had with the built-in
charts on the
Simrad NSE. I was in
Newport the other day on business and talked to a guy who has the system on his Protector. He said the high def charts that come preloaded on the NSE are really detailed. My
family and I
cruise around
Newport a lot in the summer, but I'm hoping to explore some new places this coming season. The NSE accepts
Navionics platinum cartography, so I was thinking I would buy the charts I need once I finishing planning our next adventure, but now I'm wondering if Insight charts that
Simrad makes will be sufficient. I realize this is probably totally dependent on the area, I'm just wondering if anyone else has has any experience with them.
I'm also planning on taking my
laptop and
iPad along, so I will have backup charts in other formats.
