I'm needing help with Seaclear 2 if anybody has a suggestion would be appreciated. I have installed the software and all is well. Charts are calibrated and GPS gives location accurately when stationary or moving. The problem is when I enter waypoints (positions) they don't appear on the chart where there should be and are they seem randomly out of position by a small but significant distance. The same problem occurs when entering positions within Seaclear or via G7toWin. Any ideas please??
Possibly a datum issue - where did you get the waypoints from? Since the GPS position is accurate on the map (most likely WGS84), this suggests the input data is from a different datum - or perhaps just not very accurate.
Datum error sounds right. The waypoints came from paper charts and the digital ones are official government agency downloads. All in WGS84. Really weird. I think Ill just have to experiment and trial and error different settings and calibrations. Thanks for suggestion.
