This past weekend I tried using this feature in Seaclear to tell my
Simrad TP32 to steer a
route. It does not
work very well.... has anyone else tried this and did you get it to
work satisfactorily?
What happens is the
boat will make about a 90 degree turn towards the
route line even if the
boat is only a little off. It overcorrects badly.
On a similar note, the COG display in seaclear only seems to work if the boat is making at least 3 or 4 knots.....It just goes to 0 under these speeds. My
Furuno GPS which is supplying the nav data to Seaclear did not do this... I looked at the
Furuno when Seaclear was displaying a 0 COG and the Furuno was showing the correct heading
