re: Schooner Nina - MERGED 3 THREADS

On this forum getting bis of information that is adding up.. Regarding that paper it was not a piece of paper but a website to Spot that would use GPS coordinates but that quit working 2 weeks ago. Sounds like that held somewhere for bad weather around June 4 then becalmed so may not have actually set off until the 10th. If so and someone said 1200 miles to Sydney. I'm looking at the 22nd June. My mom today got a overseas call. Heard her name then died. We always call our mom to leave info as she's always home to pick up telephone. So they may be trying to get ahold of us but not able too.

Cheers for the update - and very wise to be getting advice from the SAR folk direct, and not simply relying on internet folks (myself included!).

All these threads become invaluable. Yes makes sense. Especially when they hoved over June 4 then becalmed that prob again June 10 departed and 12 days around the 22-26 is not illogical. Wonder if batt probs why can't use comm. yes will keep you up to date.

Hope the old sexton has a sextant. Just Jokin--keeping fingers crossed for happy ending. Classic boat BTW.

Dont need a sextant to find Australia, just a compass, you could even just follow the sun.

Re: update schooner Nina

Didn't sound like there was any trouble but it's always nice to hear that an underway vessel is doing just fine.

Re: update schooner Nina

Cheers for the update - would be good to hear when she does reach port, and maybe even some details of the trip from the folks onboard even if only a link to a blog (my guess is that nothing exciting happened - just slower than hoped for).
