Re: Sat2Chart

Changing your cache to SQLite3 format makes it a lot easier to manage. The Create_New_Cache utility allows you to do it an area at a time. I created a polygon for the Caribbean and used the utility to create a new cache in both Sas.Planet and SQLite3 format. Here is a comparison of the two:

Google Earth Pro popup

If using the Google Earth program from Paul Higgin's website, when launched you may get a popup announcing an update to Google Earth Pro.

To eliminate this annoying popup, view the Sidebar and uncheck the box 'Upgrade available'. Close the sidebar and never see it again.

Sat2Chart V11.0.1.0 is available. Highlights:

- New utility: Convert_Cache that automates SasPlanet's Cache Manager to make it easy to convert to SQLIte3 format.

- Fix for polygons. It now only creates tiles only within the polygon.

You can download it here:

Sat2Chart TRANLATORS

I have somehow lost the file I had with the email addresses of the translators for Sat2Chart.

If you were one of them and are still interested in translating the messages please contact me.

Re: Sat2Chart

Well Google has finally done it. Google earth V7.1.2 can no longer connect to the GE server.

I guess we have no choice but to switch to SasPlanet.

Re: Sat2Chart

Well, I guess we knew it was coming. And with SAS, we don't really need GE at all anyway.

Re: Sat2Chart

As I reported on Facebook, Although we can no longer access Google earth directly to create charts you can use SasPlanet to access the Google Earth Pro's cache directly and create charts from it. This is in addition to SasPlanet's normal way of accessing Google earth.

Sometimes the images on Google Earth are better or more current than Sasplanets. Also you cabn access Google Earth's Historical Imagery which may have a better satellite image than the most current. SasPlanet can access this historical imagery to create charts.

I have documented how to setup SasPlanet to access Google Earth Pro's cache.
Here is the link to download the document.:

http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/How%20to%...SasPlanet.docx

Many thanks to SAS.Planet developers - vasketsov ' , who implementedthis method to access the Google earth cache.

Re: Sat2Chart

Sat2Chart.V11.0.2.0 is now available
Highlights:
- Limited support for Google Earth Pro
- Fixed crash changing to another language
- See the Changelog for others

Regarding Google Earth: Google now prevents any old versions to connect to their server. So older versions of Sat2Chart no longer work. But this version provides two ways to create charts from Google Earth Pro:
- Access the Google Earth cache as a Map from SasPlanet
- Create a single kap or mbtiles chart from the Google Earth Pro display. But you cannot create a Tiled chart or a chart from a path or polygon or overlay anything onto Google Earth.

Both of these methods are documented in the Help and the tutorial "Creating a Chart from Google earth" has been updated and a new tutorial "Accessing the Google Cache from SasPlanet" has been created.

here is the link: to download this version:
http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Sat2Chart.V11.0.2.0.exe

Re: Sat2Chart

Sat2Chart.V11.0.3.0 is now available fixes:
- Problem when tiling, produces extra tiles.
- Creating charts from Google Earth Pro Historical Imagery. Also new options to use alternate hotkeys if other programs use the regular hotkeys. And allowed the Google earth lat/lon to be any degree format.

Here is the download link:
