Raymarine SR100 Satellite Weather?

Anyone use this service? What are your thoughts? I note that on Raymarine's website it states you must be in the continental US, but then it also advertises that it's good for offshore work. Has anyone here used this offshore? As you might imagine, if it works between the US east coast and Bermuda, that might give it a fair bit more usefulness to me.

Thanks,

I have used it on Lake Superior. Its pretty cool to see weather overlay on charts and radar. Plus the satellite radio is a bonus. I have never used it in the Ocean, but i would bet it probably (not sure tho) works between the EC and Bermuda.

Raymarine just announced the release of its new E series widescreen, which will be tied to HD radar. Yep HD! Very big upgrade technologically speaking, so if your looking for the latest and greatest you should get in touch with a Raymarine dealer in your area.

Thanks! Not looking to upgrade all the electronics, as we have two E120's that are just 1.5 years old.

But you raise something that makes me curious, not to hijack my own thread. What are the benefits of HD in the marine application like radar? I get it for TV at home (and thee's nothing better!), but exactly what are the benefits on the boat?

Thanks,
Sirius weather is very good but a little expensive. I have received the signal as far south as the Jumentos.
