I'd quite like to see if it is possible to do the following:
- Parsing NMEA and logging reports
- Decoding WeatherFax and Navtex
- Grib Display
- Running Sailmail or something similar
- Running a browser and mail client via WiFi
- Navigation
- Weather routing
Any other ideas?

Looks interesting, though finding programs which will run on
linux might be a problem.
Open cpn says it runs under
linux so nav should be OK. I haven't played with linux so can't be much help with the others.
I'm just in the process of building a pc based on this motherboard -
VIA Embedded Got the board running so far, drawing 0.8a on 12v. Car
Power supply seems very RF quiet which is ideal for weatherfax. Hopefully should have an operating system working over the weekend, will post as to how it goes. It has a
serial port which is very handy, not many of those around these days. I want it to run nav with
ais, weatherfax recieve and winlink through a ham
radio. Still need to decide on a
monitor, these have been mentioned as an option.
