Printed Nav Chart Advice

This is my first post so am not sure if I am in the correct forum. I would like some direction on what and where to get some paper charts of the ICW from Jacksonville FL to the Keys. I will be kind of a new traveler in this realm as my boating experience has been on an inland lake. Realizing this is a new environment for me, any advice would be helpful. This would include book recommendations.

Thanks

But -- just in case you're not, already -- also be aware several navigation apps are useful, and you can pick one or two that will run on your favorite tablet (assuming no chartplotter in a fixed installation)... and that can be in some cases either slightly easier to work with than large paper charts, or that can give you additional backups in case paper gets wet, goes overboard, etc.

One technique might be to pick one app that presents vector charts, and a different app that presents raster charts (latter being digital versions of paper).

Aqau Map USA/Master is one app that stands out for ICW passages, because you can get USACE survey overlays for a modest additional in-app purchase fee ($10). The surveys can be very useful in some of the known shallow areas along the ICW...

But there are several to choose from. See previous threads on the topic, if you haven't already.

Re: Printed Nav Chart Advice

While software and/or "Apps" have merit, paper charts don't run out of power and have much to recommend them. You might take a look at (Click on) the MapTech Chart Kit for Region 7.

FWIW...

Welcome to CF.
I will move this to the correct sub-forum.

Re: Printed Nav Chart Advice

While this doesn't apply to the ICW, here in Canada you are REQUIRED BY LAW to carry paper charts (and by implication, to know how to use them) regardless of how many newfangled gizzmos you have aboard.

There is merit in the underlying thought!
