Places to dock near Multnomah Falls

Does anyone have any suggestions about places to anchor or dock near Multnomah Falls on the Columbia River?

Hi Dave, there are a few of us that sail the river. Someone will speak up. I haven't been there except by freeway....

I just checked on Google Earth and there certainly doesn't seem to be anywhere to dock but there is a boat ramp just west of it. I don't have experience anchoring in the river.

Dave,
Watch out for the barges! Will you be coming up the Columbia River from the Ocean? Thats one of the meanest bars in the world. Be cautious Capt. Why Multnomah Falls?

Re: Places to dock near Multnomah Falls

Based on driving past there many times, and google earth, I don't see any reason you cant anchor adjacent to the falls area. There is a small point to the east if you need wind protection, but that close to shore I doubt it most days. You will apparently have to cross both directions of the freeway on foot to visit the falls though....

I live in portland so no bar crossing on this trip.

I am looking for an easy overnight trip out of portland. St Helens is my other option going the opposite direction. I figured the falls would be pretty from the river.
