I just ran a few scenarios over a few time periods over the next 96 hours and it does look like a useful "rough cut" tool for visualizing routes. I compared it against my planning for this week and it confirmed some pretty straightforward route
scenarios I had formulated given a front I'm going to have to deal with.
Perhaps most interesting is the email
functionality. Send an email
with your departure and destination
coords and it will shoot you back a KMZ file. You can authorize any email addresses you want in settings, including Iridium
, Winlink, Sailmail etc.
Some may turn up their noses at routing programs but they can be very useful as a first swag at planning a route
