Question Northstar / Navman vs Garmin - Chartplotter / Depth Sounder

Hi all, im trying to decide which brand,plotter combo sounder units around 1000-1500 aus dollars nth star or garman ,which one is best ?????? help please!!!

Between your choices Garmin, they are more intuitive to use and at the price point you are looking at they are hard to beat.

Jim,

I would also recommend Garmin. The installed base is very large resulting in many used chart chips. Just check out ebay for additional charts.

Find out which charts are best for the area you are going to be sailing in and then buy the chart plotter that has the best charts for that area.
