New Orleans to Corpus Christi via GICW

HI All,

Planning on moving my boat, perhaps solo, from New Orleans to Corpus Christi, TX via the GICW. I have read the Waterways guide and Skipper Bob so Ive got some info and I'm looking for updated, supplemental, and/or local knowledge. Anything helps.

What are marinas, anchorages, fuel docks, etc along the way?

I can't seem to find any regs on whether the industrial canal and harvey locks require line handlers. In fact the the only part of the trip that really worries me getting from Lake Pontchartrain to Houma, LA. How doable is this leg solo? If I have go solo is it worth actually hiring someone to help with lines and such for this section?

Any advice from someone who's done it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Sam
