Re: New Android Sailing App : SailFreeGPS
Nice looking App Fred - Will try it out soon.
Have you got around the issue of the later versions of Android putting the GPS to sleep after around 20 mins after the screens goes off?

I like the ease of sharing the data.

Thank you for your suggestion
At the begining I implemented a linear graph but I finally consider it wasn't relevant when saliing close to 0° ... The values were fluctuating from 3° to 356° for example and back again
I keep the idea of correlation between the 2 graphs...

A floating window where the range of displayed values could sometimes be from 0 to 360, and sometimes e.g. from 180 to 180 (i.e. first from 180 to 360, and then continuing from 0 to 180) could be one way to approach this problem. The middle/centre value could also be your current direction, or your target direction. Just a thought.

Re: New Android Sailing App : SailFreeGPS
Thanks for the update. I find that dragging the menu in from the left is much more difficult to use as my tablet has a case that partly obscures the edges of the screen. Not much better on my phone.
On-board just being able to select menu items is far easier, more convenient and well worth the small loss of display area.

Re: New Android Sailing App : SailFreeGPS
Sitting at home or down in the cabin I might agree, but not so practical on deck. Needs two hands as well unless your device is hard mounted
