Need suggestion for basic nav app for iphone 8

Hi all,


I live next to the Illinois and Mississippi rivers and was wondering what a suitable app would be for my aging but reliable iphone 8. Was on a friends boat recently and we were discussing boat speed, current, and a bit of other stuff that could have been answered had I an app on my phone. An odometer/log feature would be nice as well to see how far you can actually go on a tank of gas. Anyway, just wondering what is out there? Don't need a plotter but could be kinda cool, free is nice but wouldn't mind spending money for something useful.

Not sure what you mean for navigation, but not chart plotter. There are lots of GPS data apps available, as well as compasses, and chart plotters. Lots of them are free. Although an iPhone 8 is getting long in the tooth. Check out the App Store.
