Do the C J MEDWAY books cover Navionics HD for the ipad air 2, or, are they for the regular chart plotters?

Re: Navionics iPad User Manual

You need a manual?

Us Apple users would call that a "clue".

I just downloaded the navionics app for my iPad. Is it possible to load a route using lat and long?
No, you can't. That or about anythng useful, you can't. They are idiots, they spend no time or money on features or a manual, just on promotion and advertising.

You can't set a waypoint to a long lat, you can't set a route to pre-established waypoints, you can't see what long lat a waypoint on a route is set to, you can't ...you can't... you can't...just about everything.

They are idiots, dump this stupid app (and if you think this app is great, it simply means you are neither a navigator or a sailor, you are simply naïve about navigation, and probably unsafe)

Re: Navionics iPad User Manual

I share the frustration. However I did find a way to display lat/lon. If you stop the route planning mode and tap on the screen near your waypoint or point of interest a cursor will appear with a question mark. Drag the screen so the waypoint is under the cursor and tap the question mark. A window appears that includes the lat/lon.

I am amazed that well known navigation software companies launch apps with a little or no user documentation. Most software is not intuitive and I think many users abandon some software out of frustration.

Plan2Nav has no documention at all. No user Guide no online help no FAQ's

If you have questions about using Navionics ask away and i will attempt to answer.

If you are happy to give feedback i can send you drafts as they are written

Richard,

Do you know of a way to get the Navionics iPad app to plot a 9 mile line off the Gulf Coast of AL. AL now has a new 9 mile fishing zone based on a 9 mile line directly south of the shoreline. This is tough to adhere to without a visual line to align your position to.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I have created a 300+ page x 600+ image Navionics User Manual with scores of URL links. It’s neant to be a coffee table experience and a reference. It’s been an enjoyable project with a lot of artwork to help make it an enjoyable reference. If you’d like to look st it let me know and I’ll email a Box.com link to peruse a pdf version. It’s not for sale dt to a hundred or so copyright releases. Chuck Cohen
