Moving east from Sandusky, ohio

In two weeks I start a slow journey in my 34 Irwin "Taormina" to the Chesapeake. Looking for tips along the way. Anyone recommend areas from Cleveland where I can attach to a mooring ball or have good anchorage for up two two weeks. Thx bob

Are you using Active Captain? I've found the reviews on anchorages to be very useful. It's saved a lot of time checking charts and a bunch of money for transient slips.

We went through there a few years ago. The options there were not great in Cleveland and we ended up in a marina. Erie is a much better place to hole up for a few weeks, the north side of Presque Isle Bay. Better yet get off the lake and into the Erie Canal system. Lots of great, free places to stop for a rest in there.
