Maxsea 10

Where does one get hold of a copy of Maxsea 10 ? Googling only seems to bring up navigator or Commander etc. and no reference to version 10. Please PM me if you have one or know where one is for sale.

The first hits in a google search for maxsea take you right to their website. Version 12 is the latest, so you probably won't find any vendors selling Version 10...

Maxsea 10

Problem is my PC and all my backup discs etc among other things were subject to recent severe flood damage.
Maxsea 10 is the one I have been comfortable with fortunately my Cmap chast software was left on the boat and I'd would rather like to be able to get the programme I am comfortable with.

I had to modify your post because we cannot allow the promotion of the stealing of software which of course is an illegal activity.

Watch out for the version on Mininova, it has a virus in it.

Does 11.3 run the original CM93 charts?

I dont think so. IIRC the last version that would run it is 10.3

Mmmmm . . . I'm using 10.1.3.2 which runs CM93 charts but the program only looks at serial/RS232 GPS's. Wondered if there was a slightly newer version that slill uses the original CM93 charts but has USB GPS interfacing!

Seems like no matter what chart format I dump into it I am able to use it. We run version 11 but I see they are now up to version 12. We do use a serial dongle and am considering going to the usb dongle. Options?

Choosing your charts

I had absolutly no problem using 10.1 or 10.3 with USB GPS - but interfaced it through Franson GPSGate software. This allowed me to feed both the Maxsea and my AIS plotter simultaneously from the same GPS feed.

I will have a look at Franson GpsGate Software. I have also found USBvCom which adds a serial port to a computer that does not have one and is then driven by a USB devise!

Franson lets you set up the number of ports that you want.

For a Laptop or PC that has no serial port . . . no need to purchase a hardware USB to serial adapter. I can confirm that a virtual serial port created using either Franson GPSGate or USBvCOM-109 both work fine. The later prog is only 750kB and is FREE!
