I got the chart set from Cape Flatery to SF. I also had E charts. I used the charts to track overall progress but not the detailed chart. I think they are readable but not the best. They work as a back up.

I have a couple of Itronix laptops from e-bay. teh IX260 is the better one. It goes for about $200. Put a USB GPS puck on it and you are set. SEACLEAR and a $50 book of charts and you are set. Redundancy, I got lots of storage room on mine, I have 4 USB puck GPS, 3 handheld Gps, 3 Itronix Laptops, all the data and programs on CD / DVD. Chart Books and or Cruising guides of all the areas. That and a 22" flatscreen monitor in teh lower helm that I can see clearly from the cockpit I figure it is enough.
