Local Knowledge . . . Nassau Sound / N. Florida

Hi folks - I'm looking for information on Nassau Sound in north FL. I've heard rumours there is a channel through it with some depth, but can't find anything more about it.
Can anyone advise?

Used to fish that area as a kid, seems like we were always running aground due to shifting shoals. Confirm bridge clearance, I think the new bridge is a fixed bridge now. Active Captain is showing 15' fixed bridge clearance. My Garmin blue chart still shows it as a swing bridge. Great fishing, though.
