Loading New Charts into Garmin Bluechart Chip ?

So, I recently got an old gpsmap 232 with a couple bluechart chips and was wondering if anyone knew of a way to transfer our own charts (from noaa or maptech) onto a bluechart card so the garmin can read it.

thanks

Unfortunately, Garmin Chart Plotters will not read charts in any but their proprietary format. You may yet be able to find older Blue Chart CD's that will work with the unit (you load the maps to a Garmin Chip via their card-reader) but you will need an unlock code for the chart-set you're trying to up-load to the chip or that won't work either. Garmin is very protective of their products--particularly chart sets.

FWIW...

Navimatics might have want you want. Check out their Garmin page.

Just go to the Garmin website. Have charts for every GPS they've made.

I have a Garmin GPSMap 175. They have not had charts available for that unit for many years. When Garmin moved to the BlueChart format, they discontinued the G-Charts which worked with many Garmin receivers.
