Re: help on weather books
Theres a thread on CF about a new book about weather and reading the signs by a young lad that has good reviews.
Unfortunately my phone wont let me use the search to bring it up but hopefully someone here will remember it and bring up a link for you.
It was maybe 5 or 6mths ago..

That smells like Olly Perkins's book, The Message of the Clouds. Olly was 15 when he wrote the book, based on what he learned about the weather while sailing on his parents' cruisers and his own Optimist dinghy.
Tom Cunliffe and Duncan Wells both fell over themselves writing forewords for Olly's book. Wells was touting his book at a boat show when he discovered Olly, who was touting The Message of the Clouds at the same boat show.
You cannae buy The Message of the Clouds now.
Here's Tom Cunliffe's foreword to the book: http://readingthecloudsapp.co.uk/201...-tom-cunliffe/
Capitalism reared its ugly head (because Wells introduced Olly to his agent at Bloomsbury) and Adlard Coles/Bloomsbury bought rights to the book.

Bloomsbury renamed the book. It's now called Reading the Clouds: How you can forecast the Weather.
And sadly, it seems, all the copies Bloomsbury sells are watermarked - apparently the deck leaked and water stained the stock!
Nevermind, books by Alan Watts are good too.
See: https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/specia...tical/weather/

And here's Duncan Wells's foreword: Foreword by Duncan Wells — Oliver Perkins

Odd, I would not care about cosmetic appearance, can't keep physical books anymore anyway.
Question is, how valuable is the content?

Worry not John.
Only the ebooks published by Adlard Coles/Bloomsbury were watermarked.
The paperback edition of Reading the Clouds is unstained and GBP0.59 less expensive than the watermarked pdf or epub.

Re: help on weather books
Here you go: a very good "pocket" summary by a lucid writer, although if Cunliffe and Wells like Olly, I should check out Olly: https://www.amazon.ca/Reeds-Weather-.../dp/1408152479
