Headed south

Wife and I are heading south in June or July. Want to work our way down the coast ultimately ending up in the keys our first year. This has been in the works for many years and we are only months away. Want to thank the people on CF for incredible articles and information that make reading a pleasure!
We purchased an Endeavour 40' last June after a few years on a Catalina 27', we live in Rhode Island and are going back and forth on traveling down through NY instead of staying on the outside want to sight see cause we don't plan on returning. Any thoughts on Hells gate, East river, things to do, places to stop and stay? Then down the coast of NJ to Delaware River to the C&D any info on the canal would be appreciated.
Thanks all

Re: Headed south

There are many published cruising and anchoring guides covering your planned trip. My suggestion is to buy as many as you can afford and study them for suggestions. The Waterway Guides have good sightseeing suggestions.

Some of these guides can be bought at a discount through amazon.com

Re: Headed south

Thanks, I know about the publications out there, one thing i forget to add is, is anyone leaving New England during June or July? I know its early to head south but we are so looking forward to biggening our livaboard life we cant wait! We also are looking forward to a couple of months in the Baltimore area, love the innner harbor. So even though the next few months are filled with labor to get Liunatic ready, we are excited. She is in the water through the winter months with a haul out in april for new electronics and check bottom paint then on our way.
