He did it again / Webb Chiles

https://my.yb.tl/gannet

Looks like he is 'home'. Funnily, I was away from the net for a time and looked up the tracker this (European) afternoon - and he was just off the entrance.

I am happy he did it again. Good to see people actually doing versus.

Cheers,
b.

I would like to get inside his head and see how he thinks. He processes reality different than I do.

Great accomplishment. He must love sailing and being alone a great deal.

I've been following the same route as him (mostly), I'm on a fully equipped C470, he's on a Moore 24, he's entered my thoughts a number of times. There are times that I've found it quite difficult and uncomfortable and I've thought to myself that "this bloke sees the world differently".
Sometimes he just hasn't pulled into a port after 1,000s of nms, just keeps going, salt sores and all.

Re: He did it again / Webb Chiles

I think that all long distance solo sailors march to different drummers, but I still admire them as sailors. Webb is pretty unique amongst that group, with his willingness to suffer in really small boats, and I wish him continued success in his ventures. I can't say that I'm likely to emulate him!

Well done yet again, Webb!

Re: He did it again / Webb Chiles

I think he tends to keep things simple and this helps heaps. Then also the specific constitution of his body and mind. Some do, some simply won't. One thing at a time and just doing it.

Big and I mean ***big*** achievement imho.
