The name change is all Elon's baby, he has some Starbase permit issues that revolve around pollution in the Gulf of Mexico. If that body of water no longer exists than he doesn't have any issues

How much is it going to cost our newly efficient government to change the name in laws, maps, books, textbooks, charts, ....?

Re: Gulf of America

Ok, enough of this silliness. I am running for President in 2028. I think a 99.999% tax on his rich buddies would pay for a lot of marinas and parks.

Does anyone want to join my cabinet? Let's get this campaign started. Unless one of you wants the job. I sure as hell would not want to be trapped in that world, but if I have to?

Oh not going to change the names of anything. I will remove all "t" from the alphabet so you know what to call him.

Re: Gulf of America

Any one ever call it Chenal Anglais when visiting France?
What was the reaction?

Other names I seen changed on some of the charts;

Disappointment Islands written over US Virgin Islands

Freshwater Newfoundland / Manitoulin Island (someone added: "How the hell
they got it through the Seaway?)

Started calling Gulf of Kutch the Gulf of Crotch, after 108 days loading 15000 tons of peanut pressings, sometimes at the rate of 28 tons per day.

Re: Gulf of America

Geez---I haven't been this tempted to move to USA since I was a hot rodding teen in the 60's.
77 Sunset Strip!!
25% Cdn tariff on ALL auto parts coming into Canada,at that time.

The tariff was to "protect" Cdn. auto parts makers. They made a few standard after market components for US & UK mfgr'd cars sold in Canada.

They didn't make any "speed parts",but the 25% tariff applied to ALL auto parts, regardless of country of source.Read (political ignorance)

Then came NAFTA. FREE at LAST-if stuff came from Can.,USA,or Mex.

I hope my comments about my experience with actual living in Canada, for 77 yrs.,within 10-50 miles of Maine-N.B. border will be taken as FYI & NOT "politicking".
I chose to stay in Canada. I don't regret that.
I respect citizens of other countries & do not question or criticize your loyalties!!

I am guilty of some "teasing" comments about different topics-NO insult intended! My poor attempt at "levity" Len

I'm just so grateful I live in a country where the political leader (Prime Minister) can only appoint elected people to their Cabinet.
