Paul..

Perhaps I am asking for the impossible here, but, would it be possible to use a CM93 screen as the overlay without first having to take a screen capture and convert to .kap?

Even more interesting would be to configure the 'mariners standard' box in OpenCPN v ector charts to only display soundings and navigation marks, the result being used as a GE overlay. Only the coloured sea area background will be displayed.

Most people have CM93 and it would be an easy way to give soundings and nav. info to a GE map.

Thanks for your patience. Would please download and try again.

I'll look into the CM93 overlay...

Thomas (or anyone else) could you please point me at something (maybe openCPN source) on the format of a CM93 chart.

Oh and if you have an error, please send me the GE2KAP.log. If you don't show filetype it might look like a text file.

Hi Paul..

Working again after total re-installation,BUT,failed to show overlay map working indefinately and had to abort operation. Various maps created.
This was for a NOAA bitmap of NY harbour.

Yesterday I tried another conversion from a Danish port where the scale was entirely wrong in the final overlaid result. Both cases were from original .bsb charts.

There should be a list of nemonics somewhere describing the functions of the list of 'Mariners standards' in the OpenCPN vector chart setup. Clearing all displays only the soundings.

Well,it's early days....

Does anyone (other than Acampb5160 ) who is using GE2KAP V2.03 running on XP? If so does it work OK including the viewer?

And Tore,
Are you having problems still? Is so, what exactly are the problems? Can you reproduce and send the log and kap?

Paul..

As per my #84 the results seem erratic so far in Vista.
How do you match the scales of the two maps?
The basic .kap conversions seems ok but not the final overlay.kap

I will do some more testing.

I have received feedback that the "View Image" does not work if you are using XP. I have fixed this by now invoking the ImageMagick Viewer instead of trying to do it myself.

Please download and install the latest GE2KAP_V2_BETA version 2.0.6 from my website: www.gdayii.ca

Feedback is appreciated.
