Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Sat2Chart.V7.0.0.0 is now available. I was about to say there have been no errors but just had one a few minutes ago.
There is one big change in this version: The options panel no longer exists. I ran out of room so I have moved all the options to separate tabs, There are 3 options tabs, one for the general options, one for Google earth and one for sasplanet, see the photo below.
This means I will have to update a lot of the Help and tutorials. I will do that when I get time.
Also in this version is a new option for users who create charts from polygons and paths from Sasplanet and specify multiple zoom levels. You can now specify that you want to download all the zoom levels into the Sasplanet cache but only create the chart from the highest zoom level. See the Sasplanet options.
Oh and I added a Donate button on the main panel.
Here is the link to the new version:

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Sat2Chart.V8.0.0.0
In this version I reworked the Advanced panel so it is more intuitive.
Before that checkbox "Create chart from overlay. Do not use Google Earth" and the many purpose of the "Overlay..." field confused many people, sometimes even me.
This was a very big change internally as well as externally and I want to really thank my tester Terry Sargent on S/V Valhalla for his testing and many suggestions to improve the panel.
Attached is a screenshot of the changes.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Long time linux user here but got a windows machine (shudders) up and running again just so I can use this programme.
I'll admit, I am very rusty on windows now
I have installed both sat2chart and Paul's version of sasplanet and it tells me I need to install oorexx which I did, then it tells me I need v5 and provides a link to it but the link does not work.
I find another sourceforge version and install it and uninstall V4.2? but when I open sat2chart I get this message.
Any help sorting this gratefully received

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Where did you get that link?
Here is the correct one:
http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/ooRexx.exe
Uninstall your current oorexx first then install this one.

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
But actually that error looks like your virus program has quarantined the Sat2ChartFuncs.dll
Open your virus program and see if it quarantined it, and if so release it.

When I opened your programme it said I had v4.2 and needed v5 and here's a link.
I think it was also in a post several pages back.
Running up to the wheelhouse to try my luck now
ADD: That worked, another step closer
Thanks

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
OK, pressed F1 for help, read the how two several times, watched the tutorial, tried various things over several hours and I am repeatedly hitting a brick wall
The message I get is
Quote:
Error: Unable to read the information in the SasPlanet.ini
The "SasPlanet Location" field may not be correct on the Options panel
|
The location and how it was found is in the two pics
What am I missing?
I should note that this computer I am using to make the kap files has no opencpn or gps installed, would that have anything to do with it?

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Ok try this:
Terminate SasPlanet then use a file explorer to go to the sasplanet directory and open the Maps directory. In there you will see a Maps.ini file rename it Maps_old.ini
Then restart SasPlanet and then terminate it again. This should create a new Maps.ini
Restart SasPlanet then try Sat2Chart again.
If you get the same error then send me a email with the Sat2Chart.log attached to it. Me email is in the Help (F1).

Re: Google Earth to BSB / KAP
Hi All,
Is anyone using SAS Planet with Navionics charts right now? SASP stopped downloading for me and I'm wondering if it is a global issue or just me.
Thanks,
Bruce
