Fl Keys anchorages

We've decided to go the inside route to the keys this month-probably not any further down than channel 5.
It has been a few years since I have done this. Looking thru all the notes and data I have, I find most of it is 10+ years old.
Anyone use the anchorage recently at Tarpon basin? Can you still tie a dink to the dock and walk into the stores for supplies?
Plantation Marina...assuming a dock is avail, what is the channel depth?
Cowpens-anchorage ok? Landing a dink?
Any other information would be appreciated.
