Favourite anchorages in Istanbul

Hi all,

So - where have you found the best places to anchor & then leave the dinghy, in & around Istanbul?

We have a 2 m draft.

Marinas are well and good, naturally - but not for several months, (June/ July-ish - December-ish), we'd go broke!

Generally, what are some of your favourite spots in Turkey, and Greek Aegean for mooring/anchoring? (Yes, more warmth sought for the winter so your Med recommendations are welcome.)

What the heck - how about Crete?! I know it's chilly in winter, I spent two of them there on land, but any super anchoring spots you'd care to share?
