Dear CF,

I am planning to buy a wifi multiplexer to connect my ship data (wind, heading, depth, speed) to my Ipad with InavX. I am quite impressed by the Brookhouse iMux-ST multipleer and was wondering if there are any experiences on this forum with this product/ alternatives ?

Will your data come from serial NMEA connections to different instruments (which need to be multiplexed) or do you have (for example) a chart plotter which already receives the serial NMEA data from the various instruments?

Neil,

I have an old (1999) Raytheon rc520 plotter, functioning but I never use it...looks like stone age.. I always use the Ipad for navigation. So I like to put some hardware between my Raytheon equipment (wind, speed, type100 etc.) to wireless connect with iPad/inavx

I'm trying to figure out if you need a multiplexer or not. If all of the instruments are connected with Seatalk then your chart plotter can probably output all of the NMEA data on a single NMEA wire, in which case you don't need a multiplexer.
That single NMEA connection will be ideal for my soon-to-be-released NMEA to WiFi Bridge which will get the data from your chart plotter to your iPad.
