Delaware City to Cape May

Hello everyone,

Some of you may remember my boat is down in Delaware, and I am planning on bringing it up soon. I have a question about timing on the Delaware. I obviously would like as favorable tide as possible.

Based upon my research I am planning on passing Reedy Island approximately 1 hour before high tide there.

Does this seem like the best possible timing?

We are a 38ft sailboat.

Additionally, I'm going to measure my air draft, it's going to be MIGHTY close to the Cape May Canal height of 55ft, HOWEVER, the controlling depths listed on NOAA Chart 12316 state numbers as low as 4.1ft? Is the canal out of the question due to my 7ft4in draft? Anyone run the Cape May Canal recently?

Thanks!
