Copy C-Map Max SD Cards

I have a number of C-Map Max SD Cards for my chart plotter. During the past year, I lost about 5 of these cards at considerable expense - 4 cards where lost due lost luggage whilst travelling and 1 card fell overboard sailing in windy conditions. I'm tired of spending money buying new cards everytime something happens.

Is it possible to make back-up copies of these cards?

The SD cards look pretty standard, but has a protection wich is not accessable trough standard cardreaders, not even with dealer programmer.
I'm pretty sure that it's not any way of copying these sd cards so far.
