Charleston, SC to Brazil

I plan to sail from st. george, Grenada to Fortaleza, Brazil w/ a SE turn at position around 3.75°N, 45°00W around the 2nd week of Feb'11. The position of Fortaleza is 03°42'S, 38°30'W just before the bulge of South America. I would love to hear from anyone who have done this or similar trip and any advises on do's and don'ts; and thoughts about the route. Thanks.

I studied this route for a delivery as well. From what I was able to find, the best route to Brazil from North or Central America is via Europe and Cape Verdes. Trying to sail the South American coast against the prevaling winds and Guyan current is an incredibly uncomfortable trip.
The owner ended up trucking his down from Trinidad.
