Can I Be The Ferryman Of My Own Soul?

Is this what we seek when we climb aboard our small Arks and set off to cross over? When do we know we have reached the far shore? And will someone over there be able to make a decent margarita?

Er, that's kind of cryptic, isn't it? How many margies have you had? <reaches for Glenfiddich to refuel>

Re: Can I Be The Ferryman Of My Own Soul?

That old saying "not until the sun is over the yardarm" isn't all that useful.....if the yard is on the deck because the sail is lowered, for instance (not that many folks have yards anymore), or if one is quoting it while clinging to the masthead, bottle in the other hand.....

The boss questioned my choice of a beer at lunch the other day....he said "it hasn't even gone 12!". I replied, "It's 7pm in Vladivostok!". For a fallback excuse, the local water quality was bad....compared to the beer, any local water quality is bad. No, I'm not a drunk, neither am I a teetotaller. All good things in moderation...
