Best Software to Use with Sony SW7600GR

Not sure if this is best to go with electronics or Navigation and software.

Anyway I just got my Sony radio. What software is available to decode weather data from this radio? What do you recommend? Where can I find information on how to download the files and interpret them?

Does it matter if I use a mono or stereo headphone jack? Will I have any chance of practicing in suburbia or I need to be far away from interference?

Dennis.

Good data on how to do this is available from Radio Teletype (RTTY) for Weather when Sailing / Franks-Weather | The Weather Window

software are WxSat and JVComm2.
Just use google to find the sites for download. Both are free.
Good luck.

Thanks guys. I am land bound at the moment. Is it true I will have no chance of getting this to work until I am away from the interference of suburbia?

Put the chance on your side using mono. Reception depend on your antenna.
With a small antenna, probably have little chance of receiving in suburbia. That is my case, I only succeeded on open water with telescopic antenna.
