B&G Zeus 2 Troubleshooting

I have a B&G Zeus 2 9" chartplotter with C-Maps that is about 3-4 years old. It worked flawlessly during my original voyage from Annapolis to Wilmington, loved it. Few years later I moved the boat to Shell Point, Florida (Gulf of Mexico). During that sail I noticed that chartplotter was acting up. Depending on the level of zoom the markers on the map will disappear or re-appear. I updated the firmware, and it is still acting up. Red/Green markers will randomly disappear when you start zooming in on the map.

Could it be C-Maps acting up, or chartplotter itself? Spend 15 minutes on B&G website looking for a support phone number with zero luck. Can I send it back to get refurbished, or is that even an option?

Any thoughts?

That seems very odd. It is common for some navaids to not be shown depending on zoom level, but they are only omitted at the higher zoom level. As you zoom in. Some navaids may appear, but nothing should disappear.

Not sure if this will work but it's easy, quick and free.

Clean the contacts on the micro SD card and it's socket.
Make sure the card is seated in slot one.


Software version should be 18.3

I have the same B&G Zeus 2 9” plotter with cmaps. Channel markers don’t appear until you zoom in. Also the channel marker numbers appear as you zoom in more. Believe a feature of the cmap software, more detail as zoom in, less as zoom out. Nothing wrong with plotter. Difference in detail between US east coast and Fla Gulf coast guessing may be chart related?

Mine does the opposite - when you zoom in channel markers disappear. Zoom out a click, and they are back.

Done the latest firmware update, restarts...etc.

Strange behavior for sure. To compare, my Zeus 2 firmware version is V18.3, cmap M-NA-Y943.42 summer 2018 Florida and the Bahamas.
