Anegada( BVI) depth ?????

Hello all,

we want to visit Anegada again but do have a draft
of 2,15 metres or 7 feet.

Has anyone been there not too long ago with this
draft ? Is it o.k. or should we stay away ?

Help is appreciated....

Greetings from Germany....

Re: Anegada( BVI) depth ?????

it will be thin on the inside....i think 6-7' is controlling... but i had a buddy with a swan (11' draft) who just anchored by the start of the channel near pomato point (?). long dingy ride to the "town" but otherwise great...

cheers

Re: Anegada( BVI) depth ?????

We have a 7' draft and have been there several times. The last time was in July 2013, we expected it to be pretty empty but when we got there the mooring field was already pretty full and the anchorage was full as well. We grabbed the last ball at the back and shortly after found ourselves bouncing on our keel at the peak low tide. The new depth sounder had not been calibrated when installed and showed a depth of 5' -- note to self 5'=0'. Most of the rest of the mooring field is fine, we love It there and never pass up the chance to visit when we are in the area.

Re: Anegada( BVI) depth ?????

Thank you all sooo much. Yes Pomato Point was what i was thinking too to be
on the safe side..... We have a charter boat so touching the ground can cost a lot
of Money....
Take care and fair winds.....
