This is pretty interesting. The approach into Rodrigues Island. Isailor wins!

In Patagonia this year Isailor was also consistantly more accurate and detailed:

Navionics is frequently poor when it comes to detail for inlet's and anchorages. I've been in area where you could see local boats but Navionics offered zero information. A real weakness.

Google earth images made into charts viewed in Opencpn can be a handy addition in areas of suspect charts or no charts at all.. https://www.venturefarther.com

Thus proving again that charts, whether electronic or digital, are a rough guide and not an absolute, and the ultimate navigation system is a person who uses care and common sense!

Re: 3 Electronics Charts 3 different views

What prevented photos of the charts when each was on the same scale?

Hi, Jon the developer (and cruiser) behind VentureFarther here. VentureFarther is in my estimation (hey, I wrote it I may be a bit biased ) the simplest/fastest way to generate satellite charts without installing any software. Although VentureFarther does much more than just satellite charts the original intent was to provide the average cruiser the ability to generate satellite charts (Google, Bing and Nokia) on any computer platform (Windows, Linux, Mac, iPad and Android). If you can use Google Maps you can generate KAPs. Go ahead and give it a shot and if you have any questions/comments please let me know. While you are there check out the other features, crowd sourced anchorages, weather, eBook cruising guides and position reporting!

p.s. Sorry for the late response, we are actively cruising and I am better at developing than getting the word out.
