Using proof coil in an Lofrans Tigress

Hello Cruisers,

I will be installing a Lofrans Tigress 24V windlass on my 1985 Nauticat 40. The older windlass doesn't seem to be worth rehabilitating.

I'd like to use 3/8" proof coil, as it is MUCH less expensive than HT or BBB. On their website it appears that proof coil is sanctioned using the same gypsy as 3/8" HT.

I have noted in my research that PC and HT chain are not exactly the same dimensions, though they are close. Does anyone have experience with using proof coil chain in this windlass?

Thanks!
