It could also depend of the location (sea bottom). British sailors who are using the CQR in mud are very satisfied, but in hard sand and weed of the MED the CQR is useless...

I know a place where no Kiwi anchor will dig in, (with the exception of the Spade anchor)...

In good holding ground, with 10/12 knots of wind, () all anchors are good... the difference is in difficult conditions.

Re: Kong Swivels...There has apparently been a failure of one that West Marine is actively investigating. There does not seem to be much to it but it is worth paying attention to for further developments:

I am having difficulty understanding what you are saying about "adding 10-20m of nylon to end". Do you mean a nylon snubber to take the "pull" of the chain and attach to the boat via the snubber? Or something else?

Did you set your prior anchor with a snubber?
