Snubber feedback

Good Afternoon All,

My anchor/ground tackle project is coming along and I've taken some of the advice I've read on this forum. Thanks for the feedback. I now have my 15,500 pound Tartan 37 with a 44lb Rocna, 125' 5/16 HT chain spliced to 250' 5/8 line. (I was perusing old threads with advice on how to mark the chain. Interesting info out there.) I have installed a Maxwell RC8-8 w/Capstan vertical windlass and I have a chain stopper.

My question now is about snubbers. How long? What size rope? How many to stow? How best to connect to the chain. All advice most appreciated. Thank you.

There have been many threads about snubbers. See for example: http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...-a-110974.html

Re: Snubber feedback

We uses a soft-shackle to connect the snubber to the chain. Works great. I like to have one short snubber for normal use and one long one (25feet) for more robust situations.
