SL Anchorman Manual Windlass Gipsy Swap?

Hi,

we have a brand new Simpson Lawrence Anchorman Manual Windlass with a 10mm Gipsy (Part 162).

We would like to swap the Gipsy for an 8mm Gipsy (Part 172) in reasonable condition.

We have 8mm chain, which is sufficient for us, hence the interest in swapping.
Is anyone interested in this?

I ask this before buying a costly new 8mm gipsy. We had already been offered one but unfortunately it's a 10mm too.

Hm mm.
When I bought my Manual SL. They installed the Gypsy I wanted.10mm to 8mm.
No cost. Ask dealer. He can only say no.

^^Me too: the dealer sold me the windlass with the gypsy I specified; there were other gypsy options.

Mind you we are talking about a windlass out of production since over 20years...

Something to think about, balance the price of the Gypsy against the price of new 10mm chain. It would be nice to have new chain at any rate

Valid point, but, we do have already reasonably good chain and 8mm is more than enough in our case.

High tensile 6mm was even in the discussion.

You have probably seen the one in the UK spares place, but its £200. The problem with a second hand one is if it's worn out, that could be nasty to use.
