Re: Rocna sizing

Thanks for all contributions; I've decided that a (non Oriental) 25kg Rocna is the one for me (To be honest I cant see much to separate the Manson from the Rocna and the steel quality issue is now behind Rocna isnt it ?)

The locally made ULTRA looks quite sexy and is tempting but I dont know enough about its performance to go for that right now.

The photo from Seaworthy Lass did make me wonder about dusting off the old Danforth for a few minutes but I think I'll leave it next to the CQR.

Hi Steve
Great to see you posting here .
Hope you have had a great year since I saw you last.
Love our Rocna! The very best addition by far that we we have made to our boat .

No Rocna is currently being made to original specs, and Canadian Metal will not change that. It, apparently, continues to be "suited for purpose", and the developer (Smith) endorses the current anchor, even though originally he was very adamant that any less than the original specs would be detrimental to the anchor's performance.

+1 Rocna is no longer the original specs. They now consider a lower spec steel shank is fit for purpose. SARCA and Manson remain using bisalloy.
