The heavier anchor is only 17 pounds heavier so shouldn't be a consideration as far as weight is a concern. Adding a 100 feet of chain will add 150 pounds. If price is an issue Ultra is not the anchor for you. I've had it and the Mantus and both work about the same but the Ultra is way more expensive as it is only available in stainless. A cat has a lot of windage and wetted surface to affect how much anchor you need. Make sure you 16,000 pound cat weighs that in the configuration you sail. Add 200 gallons of fuel and/or water and you've added 1,500 pounds. For me, peace of mind at anchor is more important than comfort at sea.

Was going to post, but apparently ZZmeyer has already hit all my points: cat= windage, get a Mantus, sleep easy.
