The Lok-a-Lok connecting link is unlikely to pass over your
gypsy untroubled without manual intervention.
As Vyv Cox's article suggests, the Crosby/ACCO C-links are superior to the Suncor stainless, the latter is just
cheap 316 - always going to be far weaker on a size-for-size basis than most any chain link. The strongest tested, the ACCO connector, is still weaker than the matching chain (presumably G40 from the break load), but not by far. The Crosby C-link is weaker still, we are talking ~10% weaker than the chain. That's okay so long as you keep the thing in good condition and replace at the first sign of any
corrosion or wear.
