Re: Really Bad Anchoring Examples ... Pictures

All of the formulas about anchoring dont mean diddly if one boat is anchored on all chain and the next boat is on mostly nylon. The effective swinging room will be much differant between the 2 boats. I have been on both sides of that situation. The only real answer is to leave as much room as you possibly can between boats and if it is marginal, leave an anchor watch._____Grant.

ID:	67136 Today it's the big power boats dropping their anchor on top of the yachts anchors directly opposite here on SIMI Island.

The water is deep so some scope is needed when hanging off the anchor and backed in quayside this makes the yachts have to wait awhile for the luxury motorboats to finish breakfast etc.... Although frustrating there's usually good humour.

Re: Really Bad Anchoring Examples ... Pictures

Today's sample of extreme bad anchoring practices at Symi Island Greek Isles, count them!
It took him over an hour to untangle, meanwhile we say with our anchor back at our bow roller , it had previously been picked up by a charterer. We couldn't move out till these guy's mess was clear.
No wonder Ange and John stay away from quay's!!!
