quick windlass model aster d1000

Any thoughts on this windlass and customer service (Glen Burnie, Maryland). The web site says 3 year warranty but it is like pulling teeth.Windlass now goes a lot slower than before. We have replaced solonoid and breaker. Thank you

Check the baseplate near the gearbox for heat under load. I saw the same symptoms on another windlass- a baseline Quick model, and they replaced the base and main shaft very promptly, which gave the unit a completely new lease on life.
If you have any doubt, remove the motor by unbolting it and sliding it off the shaft. Trigger it and see how hot the gearbox gets with no load- I'd guess that your problem's in the head of the unit.
