Oil seal in Lofrans Tigres windlass

We have a Lofrans 1500 Watt Tigres windlass, purchased in 2015
It has the 14 mm diameter shaft

The oil seal between the gearcase and the motor failed, so (due to the motor rotation) the motor windings and brushes etc. were well soused with oil. We washed it with diesel oil and sun-dried it. Motor works OK

There is no more oil into the motor, because we cut a drain in the spacer block between the motor and the gearcase, so the oil now leaks to the deck.

I called Lofrans and studied the on-line parts diagram at
https://www.lofrans.com/spare-parts

and called Lofrans to try to understand which part is the seal. They advised buying the maintenance kit, shown in yellow on the diagram, as the only way to obtain the seal.
I just received the kit, and am not convinced that I have the seal.
One item that looks like a seal has an inside diameter of 23 mm. Will that fit the worm shaft?? It is far too large for the 14 mm motor shaft.

Do I need the parts numbered 484, 485 and 486 on the diagram?

I have called Lofrans, but the knowledge of the people I can talk to is disappointingly poor.

I cannot look at the windlass itself, because Milvina is in French Polynesian and I am home in Canada.
I want to take the correct parts to the boat in the Fall.

Can anyone with first hand knowledge of the Tigres windlass advise me?

re: Oil seal in Lofrans Tigres windlass

The 23 mm i.d item is most likely the gear case oil seal but be aware that you might be fixing a symptom rather than the actual problem that caused the seal to leak. If the endfloat on the worm shaft becomes too great it’ll make that seal leak as will excessive radial movement. Oil seals can be found in any bearing supply store, nothing special or hi tech about the Lofrans seal. Was the oil level in the gear case correct? Overfilling can cause problems. The bearings on our Lofrans motor are sealed, at least on the keyed end and should have restricted the ability of the gear oil to migrate into the windings.
