Works on my boat

Make sure the alignment between the below deck and above deck pieces is good. Shim as needed below deck, so it runs freely, when all thru deck bolts are tightened.

YEah, that may have been part of my problem - kinda hard to do when you are working alone. I got around it by tightening everything, then turning the armature by hand with the motor housing off, that way you can feel how easy it turns, whilst tightening the thru-hull bolts. If I do buy the motor, I will also thread the cavity for that stupid pin that prevents you from removing the motor without removing the complete winch and replace it with a bolt.
